The Avalon office in Karlshamn together with Karlshamns Energy has developed an IoT solution that makes it easier for inhabitants of Karlshamn to decide where to bathe based on the best conditions at a specific time.
During the past years we have worked together with Karlshamns Energy in several different cases. Recently we developed a solution for displaying the local water temperature, and the response has been overwhelming.
To see the water temperature, people only need to download a free smartphone application. The application is available in both the iOS App store and Google Play. In the application, Avalon has developed a plugin that communicates with different sensors that Karlshamns Energy has placed in specific locations.
With the help of the city’s main “hubb” and LoRa, data from the sensors is collected and published through a public API. Through this API Avalon gathers data and presents it graphically via a website, to the application. Karlshamns Energy hosts this data on their website, where Avalon has also built in administrative access to the package.
This is a funny little project that gives us a sneak peek into both what is possible to accomplish today and what’s in the pipeline for the future. The area of use for smart sensors is large and we are convinced that there will be several other projects in the future. Examples of this are safety alarms, humidity monitors, warning indicators on water pipes etc. Let’s see what the future has to give.
