Now we are proud and happy! Once again, we have contributed to a win at the Red Dot Awards. This time, our client Axis Communications takes home the win for the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2023. The win is for their card readers, AXIS A4020-E and AXIS A4120-E with a keypad. At Avalon, we have been involved in the design of the products in close collaboration with Axis’ internal ID department.
Both devices were designed for public spaces and business-related contexts as a complement to all access control systems. Their robust and weather-resistant design makes these readers suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments.
“The winning card readers were developed with a strong focus on ease of use and seamless installation while being packed with the latest technology. A significant challenge in the project has been to maintain the original design and compact dimensions despite high demands for robustness and weather resistance. The award is a gratifying proof of a successful outcome,” says Örjan Nilsson, industrial designer at Avalon Innovation.
