Millennium Technology of Sweden AB has as their central motivation to provide countries that are currently suffering from shortage of water with scalable and reliable equipment. This means that those countries are given the material support to build self-sufficient water structures. This in turn leads to improved public health, reduced poverty, and creates cultivable soil for agriculture in areas that are now infertile.
Together with Backer AB, Avalon Innovation is contributing to the development of a prototype base for MTS Water-in-a-Box project. The purpose is to provide sustainable, desalinated and bacteria-free water in a sustainable way to needy areas in the world. The solution is based on a patented invention for water purification (Millennium Desalination Device – MDD) which is integrated into a scalable, reusable, and portable container for flexible production, transportation, and development. By using energy from solar hybrids and new battery pack technology to charge batteries with solar energy, production solutions will be energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
Water-in-a-Box will be able to purify up to 2000 liters of water per day with a purifier the size of a regular household appliance, which is enough to supply several houses. The intention is to make this technology scalable so it can accommodate purification needs for individual households as well as larger facilities supplying water to entire villages.
